In 2000 Therese received the Playlab Services to New Work Award.
After performing with the Popular Theatre Troupe and studying
at Ecole Lecoq in Paris, Therese went on to work as a performer,
writer, director and dramaturge at La Boite, Street Arts and Faceback Theatre,
Scotland.
She was writer/director of Long Way Round for the award winning
SBS series 'Under the Skin', and co-creator/director of Anna
Yen's circus theatre show 'Chinese Take Away'.
Writing credits include Kite Theatre's 'Murri Time' and Kooemba
Jdarra Indigenous Performing Arts' 'Goin' to the Island'. Both
these plays received AWGIE (Australian Writers' Guild) nominations. In
1999 she received a 2-year Fellowship from
the Australia Council, writing and directing new works, including
'Binni's Backyard',
which toured nationally in 2003/2004.
In 2001 Therese directed 'Svetlana in Slingbacks' for La Boite
and the AWGIE Award Winning 'Kese Solwata' for the 2006 Out of
the Box Festival.
In 2003 Therese was a Delegate at the Asia-Pacific Festival of Women in the Arts
and a delegate at the 2006 Women Playwrights International Conference in Indonesia.
