Jeff Turpin began performing as a founding member of “Scam”, a physical theatre trio which toured throughout Far North Qld, Buenos Aires, Solomon Islands, after 6 years as Musical Director of Children’s Activity Groups Assoc. He has taught with Cirque du Soleil “Calle del Mundo” project in Chile and the National Circus Festivals in Australia for 20 years.
In 2001 he played the role of Captain Baudin in “Loose Lips” a circus theatre historical pageant, and in 2003 played in “A Fine Line”, both of which toured in “Ten days on the Island Festival”, in RaRaDaDa. He was musical Director for both shows.
As “The Assistant” Jeff performed physical theatre and clown and played music with Broadway and Co. in “Eccentric Acts” which toured capital cities of Australia, U.K. and Brazil. With this company he taught in “act lab” workshops.
Jeff has toured Chile with dancer Milvia Martinez, and in Canada with musician Barb Dwyer. He has worked as Musical director ensembles including Circus Risqué. Jeff has performed with Bulldust & Spangles for the Ekka, and Conan the Bubbleman in Greece for the City of Culture 2006, and in Taiwan 2007, street performing with Anna Yen.
He has been a regular in The Tiny Top at festivals. “Beast” in 2011 at the Sydney Fringe Festival, a group devised show. Part of the ensemble for “Phoenix Rising” for Woodford Folk Festival and “Mop Up Professionals” for Brisbane flood recovery. “She walks beside her shoes” – schools and theatre performances since 2011.
