Anna Yen was awarded the 2025 Alan Edwards Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Performing Arts in Queensland by the Actors and Entertainers Benevolent Fund of Qld (ABFQLD).
“ABF QLD’s Alan Edwards Lifetime Achievement Award (AELAA) is an annual event for our charity.
This year, we are honouring Anna Yen: actor and theatre maker. Her work spans theatre, contemporary circus, physical theatre, and film. She teaches in communities, companies, schools, universities, festivals and privately. Congratulations, Anna!”

2022 - Slow Boat by Anna Yen
Anna Yen’s play SLOW BOAT was presented by Brisbane Festival, Playlab Theatre and Brisbane Powerhouse. Anna was also the show’s Movement Director.
2018 – Monsteria - BankSA Best Circus Physical Theatre Award
GUSH recently returned from presenting MONSTERIA at the RCC during the Adelaide Fringe 2018.
We’re very excited to be awarded a BANKSA Best Circus and Physical Theatre Award for our last week in Adelaide.

2018 - SLOW BOAT short-listed for Queensland Premier's Drama Award
Wonderful news.
My play, SLOW BOAT, has been short-listed for the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award. This means that I am having the opportunity to develop the script further. On March 18-21, this year 2018, the actors, co-director workshopped the current draft with the excellent dramaturge Hilary Beaton, who we welcomed into the creative team.
SLOW BOAT is inspired by the adventures of my father during WW2.

2018 - Matilda Award Best Costume Design for Monsteria
I am delighted to announce that GUSH won the 2017 Matilda Award for Best Costume Design for MONSTERIA.
We were also nominated for Best Circus Physical Theatre.
